These documentaries were launched at “National Microfinance Conclave“ organised by NABARD & SIDBI in Mumbai on 13th November 2014.

The Himachal Pradesh Forest Department has been attempting to engage the communities of Shangarh in conservation of one of the UNESCO’s world heritage site ‘The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP)’.

The film follows various capacity development initiatives such as birdwatching, trekking, cooking and homestay operations that are being carried out to empower communities to manage sustainable eco-sensitive tourism.

Nominated: 12th National Science Film Festival of India 2022. Organised by Vigyan Prasar, Government of India.

Hamta is one of the most pristine sites of Himachal Pradesh, outside of having high camping pressure and unsustainable trekking footfall. It is also a pilot site of the HP-FES project.


This film showcases some of the major activities for strengthening capacities of local communities, acknowledging them as the core workforce behind operating sustainable eco-sensitive tourism.

CII Cleaner Air Better Life: Prali Pellets’ captures use of rice straw to develop solid fuel which is far more challenging than other biomass types. Agri2Power, or in short A2P, started by Mr Sukhmeet Singh is one of the pioneering eco-entrepreneurs, working extensively on solid fuels from paddy straw for the last 5 years. A2P produces biomass pellets, which can potentially replace the use of coal in various applications, including existing thermal power plants.

CII Cleaner Air Better Life: Green Bricks’ showcases the solutions using agricultural residue in building construction. Invented by an Indian Start up ‘GreenJams’, started in 2017 by Tarun and Varun Jami, the vision to build better buildings with carbon-negative materials and solutions. The brick is a carbon-negative building material, made from mixture of paddy straw, lime sludge, steel flakes and other industrial wastes.
